In 2011, over 6000 children and young people in Sheffield chose to take part in nearly 140,000 hours out of school hours learning. Our highest achiever currently has an amazing 585 hours of learning, and is well on their way to earning the first 1000 hours award in the country.
We have given out nearly 2000 Bronze Awards (30 hours), and over 600 Silver Awards (65 hours).
Currently there are nearly 1000 children and young people in the city who have achieved their Gold Award (100 hours) and above.
And that was only 2011! There are currently over 13,000 children and young people with CU credits across the city, and we hope that 2012 will be a record breaking year for us here at Sheffield CU with more children and young people than ever being recognised for their achievements.
Other developments for 2012 include a new information leaflet, an extra special Passport promotion, even more fantastic Awards Ceremonies at the Universities and the Town Hall, and hopefully lots more Learning Destinations across the city where children and young people can collect their credits.
