British Science Week 2019 - Part 3!

Wow, we're spoiling you now! We're thrilled to announce yet another fantastic FREE Science Week activity where you can collect CU credits!

The University of Sheffield Discovery Night is back on Friday 15th March 4pm - 8pm with an evening of free, fun science activities. There will be be liquid nitrogen demonstrations, edible experiments, magical maths, microscopes, psychology games, lasers, quantum computing, orthoptics, a teddy bears' dental surgery and much more! Plenty of opportunities to put on a lab coat and have a go yourself. 

Make sure you take along your CU passport to collect credits too! No need to book, just turn up. Recommended age 5 and upwards.

British Science Week 2019 - part 2!

Good news! There is even more FREE science themed activity taking place as part of British Science Week where you can collect CU credits in your Passport to Learning!

We are really pleased to announce the return of Science Alive for 2019 which will take place on Saturday 9th March at Weston Park Museum between 10am and 4pm. This will be a jam packed day filled with fun, interactive, educational and FREE science themed activities such as the popular teddy bear hospital, building a finger and smashing chocolate too!

British Science Week 2019

As part of British Science Week 2019, our fantastic friends Sheffield Hallam University are holding interactive family afternoon!

This fantastic exhibition, delivered by staff and students, showcases research in biology, chemistry, forensic science, engineering and health at Sheffield Hallam. There will be plenty to capture the imagination of all ages from hands-on activities to demonstrations, crafts and competitions. Throughout the day they will also be giving mini talks in the Pennine lecture theatre which are fun and accessible for all ages.

This will take place on Saturday 16th March between 12pm and 4pm at Sheffield Hallam, and children with a Passport to Learning can collect CU credits for taking part too!

Looking for February half term fun?

The Children's University Passport to Learning newsletter which includes details of activities happening across Sheffield during the February half term holiday is now available!


Children and young people who take along a Passport to Learning to all the activities listed in the newsletter will be able to earn additional CU credits at these activities. Passports are available from Sheffield libraries, and some Learning Destinations across the city. There's also an up to date list and contact details of our validated Learning Destinations.
