Thank you!

A huge thank you to all  the children, young people and families who took part in our February Freebie activities last week. We have received some fantastic feedback as well as lots of registers! All children and young people who attended the activity with their Passport to Learning  will be awarded CU credits for taking part.

February Freebie - last few days!

There are only a few days of February half term left, so make sure you head out to one of our fantastic February Freebie activities whilst you can! Remember, they are all completely free and you can collect CU credits in your Passport to Learning as well. What are you waiting for?!

Activities happening today (Thursday 21st February) are:
  • Self Defence Taster Session - learning some self defence skills with the Academy of Self Defence - Stocksbridge Library, 10.30am - 11.30am, suitable for age 7+
  • Imagination Gaming - play modern board and card games - Central Library, 10am-4pm, suitable for all ages
  • Go Urban! - Have an adventure in the park learning how to rope walk and tree climb with Adventures Are Us - Phillimore Park, Phillimore Road, next to Phillimore Primary, S9, 10am - 4pm
  • Animation Workshop - Parson Cross Library/Learning Zone, 10am - 12noon
Friday's activities are:
  • Go Urban! - Have an adventure in the park learning how to rope walk and tree climb with Adventures Are Us - Endcliffe Park, Rustlings Road entrance near the 'gym', S11, S9, 10am - 4pm
  • Wild Wood Activities Forest School -  take part in some fun outdoor activities including den building, woodland crafts, storytelling and more - Roe Woods, 10am-3pm. Places are limited and must be booked for this activity. Call 0114 203 9134 for more information.
  • Animation Workshop - Parson Cross Library/Learning Zone, 10am - 12noon

And finally, Saturday is the last day of February Freebie! For your last chance to take part in a FREE activity, head down to the Winter Garden on Saturday (23rd Feb) to learn some traditional circus activities such as juggling, diablo and tightwire with Greentop Circus. Activities start at 10am, and finish at 3pm in the central space at the Winter Garden.

Feb Freebie - wonderful Wednesday!

There are even MORE fab activities taking place across the city today. The Academy of Self Defence will be holding a FREE taster session at Hillsborough Library, 10.30am - 11.30am. Suitable for ages 7+.

Imagination Gaming will be at Darnall Library with our lovely Sakina, playing some fantastic board and card games, 10am - 4pm. Suitable for all ages.

Also, some lucky adventurers are heading out to Derbyshire to do some weaselling with Adventures Are Us.

There is now only 1 place left on our Forest School activity on Friday in Roe Woods, 10am - 3pm. Call 0114 203 9134 to book your place now!

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday everyone! February Freebie continues today with lots more exciting FREE activities happening across the city. 

Our friends at Imagination Gaming will be in Upperthorpe Library from 10am-4pm, playing challenging board and card games! Activities are suitable for all ages.

Or how about creating your own secret hideout using shapes, colours, flowers and animals from the park as inspiration? Meet Michelle from Art in the Park at Graves Park Rose Gardens Cafe, S8 to take part! 10am-4pm, suitable for ages 8+

Or do fancy an adventure in the park, learning how to tree climb and rope walk? Adventures Are Us are bringing Go Urban! to the fishponds on Richmond Road, opposite the Co-oPp, S8. 10am-4pm, Suitable for ages 6+.

Whatever you decide to do, don't forget to talk along your Passport to Learning to collect CU credits for taking part! If you don't have yours yet, head to the local library to buy one for the bargain price of £2.

Have an adventure with Sheffield Children’s University!


FREE weaselling and Forest School activities happening during February half term!

As part of February Freebie 2013, we are able to offer FREE places at 2 exciting outdoor activities. The first is weaselling (a sort of cross between caving and gorge scrambling) which will take place in Derbyshire on Wednesday 20th February, 9.30-1.30 for those aged 11 to 14 years. Places are limited to 12, and transport it provided to and from a meeting point outside Sheffield Town Hall. 

The second activity is a FREE Forest School session with Lauren from Wild Wood Activities, 10am – 3pm on Friday 22nd February, suitable for ages 8+. It will be a brilliant day in Roe Wood, S5, to include any or all of the following: den building, story telling, cooking on an open fire, woodland crafts and more. 

These activities are completely FREE of charge, and offer children and young people the opportunity to try something new that would normally cost families to take part in.  Booking is required for both activities, please call 0114 203 9134 now!
